Welcome to the Noise Off Website
Are you sick and tired of noisy car exhausts? You
are not alone. Almost every community in New Zealand now suffers the effects of
excessive noise from deliberately modified vehicles.
The noise is harmful and completely unnecessary. It
should be illegal.
Right now, hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders
are regularly disturbed by the noise epidemic. The problem extends far beyond
homeowners and road users – it now impacts on business and tourism. Restaurants
and Cafes are losing customers. Angry tourists are checking out of hotels.
The clean green image of New Zealand is going up in
smoke. And political parties are failing to act.
Noise Off is determined to make change. The Noise
Off Charitable Trust was established in July 2005 to tackle the problem head
on. The Charitable trust status was dropped in 2011 and the organisation
continues with the support of volunteer help. We need your help too.
Noise Off's top priority is to:
"To promote the reduction of motor vehicle noise emissions throughout
New Zealand for the improvement of the health and well being of our
communities and the quality of our environment."
Noise Off has no political
affiliation and is a non profit organisation.
